I recently went on a carravan cruise of a region of the Negev desert in the south of Israel with a group of people from all parts of the world. The cruise was guided by a Bedouin Sheikh and was arranged by Bustan Permanegev group: a group of wonderful people introducing permaculture to a Bedouin village of 3,500 people called Qsar Al Sir.
The man in the photo was a local medicine man and taught us about all the local flora and edible plants in this part of the Negev.
