The Guitarist

It’s cliche to acknowledge this, but music is an expression that truly does connect us. A couple of weeks ago, I was visiting Mexico for the first time and took the chance to explore the infamous markets near-by the resort I was staying at. As our browsing was drawing to a close, an old Flamenco guitarist came shuffling our way. As he passed, I smiled, held my camera up and without hesitation, he began to play. He didn’t speak a word of english and I didn’t understand a word he was singing, but what connected us was music. He played through one song, as others began gathering around, I circled him clicking away. For myself, it reminded me that we all understand this art form of expression and no matter the difficulty in communicating verbally, we understand the positive vibe through a simple song. Powerful.

  1. Really enjoyable photo, Casey. Well done.

  2. I love this image. Being a musician and guitar player myself, of course, I am a bit biased!

It’s a great photo and write up Casey!

    • Thanks for the kind words, Gil. I hope to submit more work. This is a fantastic site!

      • Thanks Casey!

Will Winter is doing a great job over here at the photo site and he’s just getting warmed up.
In the end though, the site is only as good as it’s content .. and that means I get to say … thank YOU πŸ˜‰
